Falling asleep while writing

(This post was actually written on the 6th, I just didn't have both the computer file and internet at the same time until now.)

I left home very early this morning—no, it was yesterday morning.  Darn time lines getting me confused.  Anyways, we left the house at 3:45 AM to drive to Chicago so I could catch an 8:00 flight.  That flight took me to Seattle, where I had a layover until 12:45 Seattle time (2:45 Wisconsin time).   I met up with the other AKP students here, with a couple exceptions; some had come with me from Chicago, a couple others from Hawaii weren’t on our flight, and then one girl made her own arrangements.

Anyways, flight leaves 2:45PM Wisconsin time—note that by this point, I’ve already been up for nearly 12 hours.   Then we have an 11 ish hour flight to Osaka.  So 23 hours.  Then we have about an hour on a bus to Kyoto.  24 hours.  Then we check into the hotel and go get dinner and then I get a shower and now I’m getting ready for bed.  Something like 28 hours straight without any sleep at all.  Not even a short nap on the plane.  So I’m a little out of it.  >.>

Anyways, Kyoto seems nice so far.  It does have an older feel to it, even though I’ve only really been in the main downtown so far.  People do not stare so dramatically, and thus far I’ve gotten a lot less of that tree stump talking, oh my god the foreigner speaks Japanese! look.  I’ve been told a couple times that my Japanese is very good, but always at the end of the conversation, not in the midst  of everything.  These are nice things.

I will write more when I am awake and have things to write.
